Previously I have mentioned about the transformation of Fundsupermart (FSM) platform. After the transformation, its mutual fund screener, the Fund Selector (Link), has also changed since I last discussed about it.
What are the changes?
New FSMOne Fund Selector
First, the available criteria are reduced from 14 to 12. These criteria are Fund Managers, Risk Rating, Assets Class, Sector, Currency, Geographical Allocation, EPF Approved, Shariah Compliant, Funds with redemption fee, Funds with platform fee, Income Distribution and Wholesale Funds.
Under the Fund Managers option is a checkbox to select for Private Retirement Schemes (PRS) Providers Only. Tick this box if you are looking for PRS only.
The last six criteria, from EPF Approved to Wholesale Funds, have three options to select, which are All, Yes or No.
Differences in screening mutual funds
In my previous mutual fund screener article, I have talked about my screening strategy. Basically, though the criteria in Fund Selector have changed, my strategy still remains the same. You can refer back to that article to see my strategy.
In this article, I will only mention about the changes that have connection to my strategy.
First, the Main Categories changes to Asset Class. The options of this criterion are still the same.
Specialist Sectors criterion is not there anymore.
Geographical Sectors criterion is known as Geographical Allocation now. The options are reduced from 25 to 23. Nonetheless, this criterion can accommodate more than one location in the updated Fund Selector.
Results
The result page is also different. In the previous version, we will be directed to a new page with three tables. Now, the results are shown on the same page as the criteria.
The number of tables is reduced to two, namely Performance Table and Information Table. The default table is the Performance Table. We still can sort the table by clicking the headings of the columns.
Conclusion
These are the major changes that I noticed about this mutual fund screener. What do you think about FSMOne Fund Selector? Do share with us in the comments section below your thoughts or if you have more information.
