Rakuten Trade News & Report

If you are using Rakuten Trade, I think you must have noticed the notifications in your inbox. What are these notifications? Are they useful?

Notifications

There are mainly three types of notification: Daily Market Report, Investment Idea and Technical View.

1. Daily Market Report

This report is sent on every morning of trading day. It contains the thought of Rakuten Trade Research Team on that day.

2. Investment Idea

This is sent occasionally and contains the recommendation of Rakuten Trade Research Team on a certain stock.

3. Technical View

This is also sent occasionally and its recommendation is based on technical analysis.

NEWS & REPORT

All the preceding notifications are summaries of reports. So, where can we read the whole report? They are in the NEWS & REPORT tab. In this tab, there are four more sub-tabs: RESEARCH REPORTS, MY NEWS, MARKET NEWS and VIDEO & WEBINAR.

RESEARCH REPORTS

All the preceding notifications can be found in RESEARCH REPORTS.

1. Daily Market Report

In this report, there are three sections: Previous Day Highlights, News for The Day and Our Thoughts. The summary that we get in the notification is the Our Thoughts section.

2. Investment Idea

There are more details regarding the recommendation of Rakuten Trade Research Team for the stock.

3. Technical View

In this report, a chart is shown and some technical indicators are presented.

Other than these three, there are reports on certain topics by Kenanga Research such as Economic Viewpoint and Sector Update. There are also Company Update, Technical View 2.0 and Weekly Market Review published by Rakuten Trade Research Team.

4. Company Update

This is a research report on a company, together with some statistics and the recommendation on this stock by Rakuten Trade team.

5. Economic Viewpoint

This is a report on an economic indicator and the view of the research team on the current trend.

6. Sector Update

This is a report on a particular sector and includes the recommendation of Kenanga Research on that sector.

7. Technical View 2.0

This is a table containing the projected support and resistance levels of Bursa Malaysia top 30 active stocks.

8. Weekly Market Review

There are five sections in this weekly report. They are Regional Indices Weekly Percentage Change, Weekly Market Review, Weekly Foreign Fund Flow vs KLCI, Brent Crude Oil and FBM KLCI Components (which shows Top Losers, KLCI Weekly Gainers vs Loser and Top Gainers).

MY NEWS

We will receive news related to the stocks in our portfolios in this section.

MARKET NEWS

These are worldwide and local news related to the market.

VIDEOS & WEBINAR

This part contains videos of investment idea of Rakuten Trade Research Team. There are also a few “How to” videos in English and Mandarin. However, the videos may be outdated now.

Conclusion

These are the news and reports on Rakuten Trade. I personally feel most of them in RESEARCH REPORTS are informative, but Technical View and Technical View 2.0 may not be so beneficial to me as I do not do technical analysis. But if you are a technical trader, they might be useful to you. Once in a while, I will check MY NEWS and MARKET NEWS. As for VIDEOS & WEBINAR, I think we can safely ignore them.
