If you are using Rakuten Trade, did you notice the existence of Rakuten Trade Points or otherwise known simply RT Points? It is the rewards ecosystem of this trading platform. How do we earn the points? What can we do with these points?
Ways to earn RT Points
There are two ways to earn RT points. The first one is through trading. Every time we trade, we will automatically receive the points. For every RM 2 brokerage fee, we will receive 1 RT Point.
The second way is by referring friends to use Rakuten Trade. Each successful referral will earn us 500 points. There are terms and conditions that need to be fulfilled before we can earn the points through this method.
Benefits of RT Point
What is so great about RT Points? On its own, RT Points are nothing. However, these points can be converted into loyalty points on affiliate partners platforms of Rakuten Trade. These partners are AirAsia BIG, B Infinite and BonusLink. Each RT Point is equivalent to 1 point on any of these platforms.
Let’s use AirAsia BIG as an example. If we convert RT points into BIG points, we can use the points to book flight tickets or redeem them to reduce the amount that we need to pay for the tickets.
Conversion
Conversion is fairly easy. First, we have to key in our membership information of the affiliate partners. After logging in, click the rightmost button (RT POINTS) on the ribbon. Just fill in the details in the Register Your Membership Information box.
To convert the points, go to REDEEM NOW function. Select the desired membership programme and enter the points that we want to convert. After that, click the Redeem button. The points will be deducted immediately.
It may take some time for the converted points to show up in the loyalty account. However, for AirAisa BIG Points, the points are converted on the same day based on my own experience.
Conclusion
Overall, I find the RT Points to be a good reward system. Nonetheless, it is quite hard to earn the points unless we trade a lot or refer a lot people to this platform. So, if you happen to have RT Points in your account, do remember to use them.
