Although I knew about Funding Societies Malaysia mobile app for quite some time, I have only installed it recently as I prefer to use the website instead. Nonetheless, due to recent travelling, I need to have an alternative. Thus, I downloaded the app from Google Play Store and tried it. It is also available on the Apple App Store.
Interface
The interface is sleek and well designed. After signing in, Crowdfunding page greets the user. There are five buttons at the bottom of the screen. The first is Dashboard, second is Portfolio, third is Crowdfunding, fourth is Funds and the last button is Settings. I will go through it one by one.
Dashboard
In this view, we can check our Performance and Account. The Performance tab provides an overview of our income and investments. The Account tab shows our account balance and transaction history.
Portfolio
Here we can check the status of our investments, whether they are ongoing, completed or defaulted. Repayment notes are accessible here too.
Crowdfunding
Here we can look at ongoing and some completed notes.
Funds
This page is for depositing or withdrawing money.
Settings
In this page, we can configure auto allocation settings. We can also find FAQ and live chat here. Logging out can be done on this page too.
Uncommon feature
One feature that I find useful is the Simulate Returns on Crowdfunding page. This function allows us to simulate our return based on the amount we plan to invest in the note. However, the total interest shown will be before fees and taxes.
Missing feature
Honestly, I think all important features are incorporated in this app. If I really have to specify a drawback, it may be the unavailability of statement. But I guess no one wants to see the statement every time. So, if a statement is needed, we will have to log in to the website to obtain it.
Conclusion
For me, this app is a good substitute for the website. After I installed this app, I have reduced my frequency of using Funding Societies Malaysia website. If you have not installed this app yet, do download and try it now.
