First of all, happy new year 2024! In this first post of the year, I will share my thoughts on the markets in December 2023.
Market condition
KLCI closed at 1,454.66, an increase of 0.13%.
S&P500 closed the year at 4,769.83, an increase of 4.42%.
My view: Not a bad year
Both the markets closed with positive gain compared to the past month. However, KLCI closed lower than 2022 (-2.73%) while S&P500 increased by 24.23%.
As expected, both markets continued their gain in December. I think it is mostly due to window dressing activities. In the past month, I took the opportunity to sell some shares of BNDX.
In the past two months, foreign buyers have been net buyers on Bursa. Moving into 2024, I am waiting to see if there will be retracement. I still have some cash in the US market waiting to be deployed when the opportunities arise.
Transactions done
1. BNDX: Sold some at $50.22.
Dividend received
1. UCHITEC
RM 0.09/share = DY 4.17%
This is my fourth dividend from UCHITEC in this year. My annual yield is now 21.75%.
2. LIIHEN
RM 0.015/share = DY 2.33%
This is my also fourth dividend from LIIHEN. My annual yield equals to 10.67%.
