I have not been using myASNB mobile app for quite some time. Thus, when I logged in recently, its new look surprised me. I will share the changes that I noticed in this article. The current version is 2.0.13.
Even the login page has undergone major changes. This version shows your secure phrase on the login page. You can choose to log in with password or biometrics. If you forgot your credentials, you can settle it on this page too (using Forgot Username and Forgot Password buttons). You can also sign up (Sign Up New button) for an ASNB account through myASNB now. The icon on top left corner allows you to login with a different user. Situated on the top right corner is the Help tab where you can check its FAQ, change the language, and locate ASNB branches. The Secure TAC feature on this page is an alternative to SMS TAC.
Homepage
The homepage has also undergone a major facelift.
You can see your name and Unit Holder ID (topmost), Total Investment Value (which can be hidden), have detailed look at your funds, check the most recent dividends of your funds, see the highlights from ASNB, look at your recent transactions, check the price of the funds, make investments and go to settings. I think the icons are pretty self-explanatory.
There is a row of buttons below Total Investment Value. The functions are Target Labur, Wakaf, Zakat, Auto Labur, Transaction, Statements, and Redemption. I will only touch on a few functions that I might use.
Target Labur is an interesting feature. It is a goal-based investing facility. It will suggest monthly investment amounts based on your goal targets. You can play with it to see how much you should save every month to achieve your goal. You can set your own return expectation or use one of the two suggested rate (3.01% or 4.15%).
Auto Labur is a regular savings plan. Transaction allows us to check our transactions in the past 90 days. Statements is where we download annual statements. Redemption is where we redeem our funds.
Other important changes to myASNB
The operation hour has changed to everyday excluding public holidays (7am – 6pm) for fixed price funds. For variable price funds, it is the same except with a shorter time (7am – 4pm).
The withdrawal limit has also changed. Previously, the maximum monthly redemption per month is only RM 500. However, the maximum amount of redemption now is RM 2,000 per month. You can perform online redemption on all funds except for ASN Equity 5, ASN Sara 2, and ASN Imbang 3 Global. The frequency of redemption is still capped at three times per month.
A great update
Overall, I think the new look of myASNB app is very appealing. It is pleasing to the eyes and easy to navigate. However, I would not use this app frequently as I no longer treat the fixed price funds as investments. Furthermore, it is very hard to deposit more money into the fixed price funds nowadays. Nonetheless, this is really a great improvement to the previous version of myASNB mobile app.
