Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) just released myASNB mobile app in April 2019. This app is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. I have tried it out and I am going to discuss its features.
After initiating the myASNB app, we will be in the login page. There are a few functions here. On the right, there is a setting button where we can change the language and locate ASNB branches. Other than LOGIN button, there are two buttons for FORGOT USERNAME and CREATE ACCOUNT. To create an account, we will be redirected to the website. You can refer to this article if you do not have a myASNB Portal account yet.
Interface
The menu is at the upper left corner of the screen. When it is clicked, a list shows up. The unitholder’s photo, name and number are at the top. The items in the menu include PORTFOLIO, RECENT TRANSCTIONS, ACCOUNT STATEMENTS, TODAY’S PRICE, FAVOURITE, BRANCH LOCATOR, PROFILE and LOGOUT.
PORTFOLIO
After logging in, we will be in the PORTFOLIO page. On this page, we can see our total investments. The number of funds that we have is displayed in a circle.
Above the circle, there is a button for ACCOUNT DETAILS. When this button is clicked, we will see the details of our holdings. Each fund is shown in a box and there are three buttons on the right of the box. The star is for adding the fund as a favourite. The middle green plus button is to buy units. The bottom right arrow will show the FUND DETAILS, including its recent transactions.
Portfolio breakdown where the amount in each fund is displayed is at the bottom of the PORTFOLIO page. We can click on the fund to see its total units and total value. Furthermore, we can top up by clicking the green ADD button. By clicking on the box itself, we will be brought to FUND DETAILS.
RECENT TRANSACTIONS
As the name suggests, the transactions that we made are shown here.
ACCOUNT STATEMENTS
We can find our statements here.
TODAY’S PRICE
The prices of every fund are updated on this page. Nonetheless, since I invest in fixed price funds exclusively, this page is not of much use to me.
FAVOURITE
The funds that we mark as favourite are shown here.
BRANCH LOCATOR
This is a function to search for ASNB branches. Choose an option from the drop-down list and a list of branches will be displayed. There are 15 options, namely 13 states plus Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
PROFILE
On this page, there are four things that we can see and change. The first is PROFILE which contains correspondence address, occupation sector and email. The second is BANK ACCOUNT. The third is CONTACT DETAILS, essentially our contact numbers. The last one is PASSWORD but it is unavailable for now. To edit the details, we will need TAC validation.
LOGOUT
This function is self-explanatory.
Buying process
The purchasing process is similar but not exactly the same as the website. Just follow the steps to buy new units. Nonetheless, I have not managed to top up yet as the my transactions all failed because there was no quota.
Security measure
myASNB does not allow multiple active sessions on different devices. Let’s say if we log in to the website when the mobile app is still active, the session on the app will be terminated.
Conclusion
I think this is a good substitute to myASNB portal (Link) because it makes the deposit process much easier. As long as we have phone, we can deposit money during the operation hours. However, myASNB still does not allow withdrawal from either the website or mobile app yet.
This mobile app is still a work in progress with a few shortcomings. I believe that new updates are coming soon.
